The third energy package and its transposition into Slovak legislation imposed on Eustream obligation of certification as an independent transmission system operator (ITO). Certification procedure, which lasted several months, was completed on 22 November 2013, when the Ministry of Economy designated Eustream as an ITO. Approval of ministry followed the decision issued by national regulator (Regulatory Office for Network Industries) on 28 October 2013.
